Choosing a Community

Your first decision when preparing to build your home is choosing the town you want to live in and the neighborhood within it. A lot goes into the selection of a neighborhood including school district, access to parks and recreation, distance to work, shopping, freeway, golf, etc. That’s why we’ve dedicated an entire section of this web site to the Neighborhoods in which we build. In this section, you’ll find information about each of our great neighborhoods.

Choosing a Floor Plan

The next decision you’ll make is selecting your floor plan, or the type, size and layout of the house you intend to build. Do you prefer a 2-story, 1 ½ story or a ranch layout? How many bedrooms? What size garage? There are many decisions to make to ensure that you have the right foundation for your dream home, and that’s why we’ve loaded the Home Designs section of this site with renderings, floor plan layouts, a list of standard features and other helpful information intended to help you make the right home style choice for you.

Choosing a "Spec" Home or Building from the Ground Up

Once you know your neighborhood and home design choices, you can decide if you want to purchase a home that’s in process, called a “spec” home, or build a custom home from the ground up. If you’d like to see our spectacular selection of spec homes, which are available more quickly than a custom built home, go to the Homes for Sale section of this site. Choosing a Builder

Lastly, we don’t want to minimize the importance of your selection of builder. When you select a builder, it is critical that you see finished samples of their work, preferably occupied by satisfied clients you can speak with directly. On this site, you can take a pictorial tour of our homes in the Model Homes section and get a feel for the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail we put into every one of our Baranko Construction homes.
